Description

Everybody be doing those meme's of changing of art from 2017
But since i got something else planned from that that you will probably see somewhere in January- i wanted to draw the progress of one of my oldest OC's ~
My Star wars OC Joss Ceiling !

Went from a blank faced self insert mary sue to a more well thought out character-
So here we go;
(btw i'm guessing some of these time periods- because i do not have exact dates saved for these designs)

:bulletpink: 2009 :bulletpink:
A friend and i were always joking online that i was her jedi master and she my padawan
Because she always asked for my help when it came to art (funny enough that i sucked at it back then- i mean for crying out loud- i drew with PAINT ! )
and i wanted to draw us as such, with her designing her own outfit of course

I was really young when i made this design- so fuck practicallity :XD:
Get those low hanging tops- skirts and high heeled boots out
And throw a pink lightsaber in there- cause fuck the rules of light saber colors

:bulletpurple: 2011 :bulletpurple:
She got this weird... cat fish design?
I have no idea- i wanted to be original.
Crappy colors and a purple saber- cause again i didn't really know about color rules back then
She was never part of the Sith so her having a purple saber made no sense-

She got paired with Obi-wan here because back then he was my favorite character,
But i kinda grew out of shipping with star wars characters (mostly cause i shipped so many with other characters already :XD: )

:bulletgreen: 2013 :bulletgreen:
Still going for the whole water creature thing,
Designing my own species but not being very good at it :dummy:
Here i decided to make her a padawan instead, because i started to watch the clone wars and absolutely fell in love with the master and padawan relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka.
A friend of mine was still designing his star wars OC and would be her master, but unfortunatly he got so busy with work he never got to it (damn his work and never letting him draw- such a waste of talent *small tear* )

:bulletgreen: 2015 :bulletgreen:
I made her even younger to fit in more with the time line- she became the padawan to Kit Fisto before Ahsoka became the padawan to Anakin.
She was still a water creature- tho i toned down all those bright ass colors.
One thing that was a problem tho- she looked a lot like my DC OC Ayasha Suagee. With the long black hair, short body and attitude.
(also can you guys see where i got the inspiration from to give my OC Anvy Mahabir her chin tattoo? Eh? eh?? heh- )

:bulletblue: 2017 :bulletblue:
Her current design.
I kinda gave up on the whole "make your own species" thing, and just went with a classic. A Twi'lek. Cause they're beautiful.
Still the padawan to Kit Fisto- tho her previous master died in the war and she became his padawan in episode "Lair of Grievous"
Her story is basically what Ahsoka has with Anakin and Obi-wan. But for her its Kit and Aayla.

Also feel like her costume now fits a lot better into the star wars canon and decided to get rid of the special snowflake lightsaber colors and gave her classic blue

Also random fun fact;
The name "Joss" came from a really old fan fic i read about someone's OC who got paired with Darth Maul.
The fan fic was deleted but the name always kinda stuck with me.

Great to see thay you grew not just as an artist and designer, but as a writer as well. You clearly care a lot about your character. Well done!
